Miss Marple
I'm looking for knives that will make processing deer a little easier than it has been using my standard kitchen knives. I'm not much for purchasing whole/in tact meat. I purchase my chicken cut up - I'm just sorta lazy like that :D so I really don't have any specialty knives. Last year my son got his first deer. It was small and would not have been cost effective to take it to a processor. So I did it myself...in the kitchen. It wasn't difficult, but I realized that my standard kitchen knives were not up to the job. Last evening my other son got his first deer (bow and arrow). We are letting it hang right now and will cut it in a day or 2. What knives work best? Specific brands? If I place the order on Amazon today, I'll get them in plenty of time to process the meat. TIA! Trish
there 's a hunter in my kitchen today! You can get a processing set of knives from Cabela's or Dick's. Or you can talk to your butcher and get some advice there. Hunter guy agrees your kitchen knives are not really suited.
