StaceyinLA Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 How long after ovulation? How much bleeding is normal? How common is it? Oldest dd returned from her honeymoon a week ago. She was fertile most of her honeymoon, and should have ovulated between the 31st (Oct) and 2nd (Nov). She has had a couple of random spotting episodes in the last few days. She isn't due to start for 5 days. They were planning to try during her next cycle, so this would be awesome if it is a pregnancy, but if it isn't, what are other things that could cause that? She HAS been tired and has had a little dizziness and lightheadedness, but no breast tenderness or anything. Quote
Ali in OR Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 For me (third pregnancy only) it was later--like from around 5 weeks or 6 weeks. It went on a couple of weeks and was very sporadic and very light. Quote
StaceyinLA Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 because it would be 10ish days after ovulation from what I am reading. Quote
LucyStoner Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 It could be implantation bleeding. Good luck to her and her husband. Quote
Guest submarines Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 With each of my pregnancies, just about a day or two before my period would be due. Just a spot on my undies, not more. Quote

Jpoy85 Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 There really isnt a rule for IB, it can be any time after O. Some women has tinged Cm, Spotting, light AF... You can also be Preg and NOT have anything. :grouphug: Quote
sbgrace Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 The timing really can vary a lot actually. It depends on her body as well as when the implantation occurs. If I'm understanding her timing correctly I think it does fit possible implantation. I always had implantation bleeding with miscarriage cycles as well as the pregnancy that resulted in our boys. For me implantation bleeding was light spotting, pinkish to almost light brown, and short lived at a day or two. I wouldn't have mistaken it for the start of a cycle though I'm sure that could vary. As far as other causes...well, sexual activity itself can cause spotting of course. Quote
gardenmom5 Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 (edited) I started bleeding at seven weeks with number 5 and bled off and on until I was 12 weeks. (I had several US associated with it to the point when I bled, i reported it, but didn't go in.) I had no bleeding with any of the others. with bleeding the things to pay attention to are color, quantity and if there is any pain or clotting. Edited November 12, 2012 by gardenmom5 Quote
Melissa in Australia Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I would be mortified if my mother posted details like this about me on the Internet. Quote
Monica_in_Switzerland Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 The two pregnancies where I had it, it came around 4dpo, and was just a bit of pink on toilet paper. Good luck! Quote
StaceyinLA Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 I would be mortified if my mother posted details like this about me on the Internet. But she asked me to ask about it on my "WTM forum." I've been on this forum most of my kids' home schooling lives. They know if I have questions, I can come here. They always ask me to inquire about things for them "on your forum." Quote

You can also be Preg and NOT have anything. :grouphug: I had nothing, but I did have the dizzy and lightheaded. Then my thumbs got sloppy and I dropped things, then the bOOk tenderness. All before I was due for next Aunt Flo. Tested the day after .... possibly a faint line. Tested three days later: practically positive from the fumes off the urine. Quote
StephanieZ Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Ummm, to put it delicately, another possible explanation might be . . . vigorous EXercise during the honeymoon and since then . . . which can certainly cause spotting or light bleeding . . . :tongue_smilie: Quote

StaceyinLA Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 The honeymoon certainly wasn't their first activity (they have dated 4 years), and dd said there was no activity for quite a few days before the spotting. Her dh was working shift work and overtime starting the day they returned from said honeymoon. Quote
Jpoy85 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 well even if she Od 11/2- shed be 11DPO and could get a + on a Bloodtest or HPT. ** I said she could. Some women dont get + til after AF is due, but there are many who get + as early as 7-8DPO on a really sensitive test. Quote
StaceyinLA Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 However, I don't think I'll tell her. She's thinking 3 more days til she should start, so that's probably when she will test. She isn't really having much in the way of symptoms, although its quite early. She has been dizzy and lightheaded for a couple of days though. I guess we will know something by the weekend. Quote
