Halcyon
I am trying to lose a little weight, and am also doing a tough cardio program. I AM HUNGRY but according to my Lose It App, only have 400 calories left for today. HOW CAN THAT BE???? Signed, off to eat lentils and brown rice with spinach. Really, it's not so bad. Really. Random
I feel your pain! My favorite filling [though not really satisfying] meal is cabbage/vegetable soup.
Kim in Appalachia
Yeah, it stinks. I was doing well for a few weeks, but this week the hunger has overwhelmed me. Today was very bad. I couldn't stop eating. I think it may be the cooler weather. But it so stinks to watch the calories, especially if you dh brags he has 500 more to eat AFTER dinner is done. Halcyon
I think my calories are set too low. 1400 for the day? I am 5"4 and 125 lbs. Sigh.

Halcyon
Maybe you want to lose weight, but that doesn't sound overweight to me. Why are you torturing yourself? Really I just need to lose 4-5 pounds, but mostly I need to TONE. And that means no late night binges on Mint Moose Tracks.....:001_huh:

LisaKinVA
Honestly, if I were you, I'd forget counting calories, just cut out the sweets, and grab the SHRED and go to it. I can eat close to 2000 calories a day (without eating grains/sugars), drinking plenty of water, do the shred and drop 5 pounds in about a week. And...I'm not hungry. Which reminds me, I really need to do the SHRED. Never mind, I'm cleaning the basement.
kiana
Is that 1400 including the exercise? Because that seems really, really low for someone who just needs to lose a few pounds.
Maela
I am the same size as you, but five to ten pounds heavier. (Depends on the day :-) ). I'm sure you look great, but I understand wanting to lose a few more pounds, as my goal is 115-120. Anyway, 1400-1600 seems about right to me. On my good days, this what I feel comfortable with. My problem is overeating. i'm not hungry; it's a mental thing. I've been eating a mostly primal diet (no grains, few carbs, moderate amount of fat, high protein) for 1.5 years. If you can eat more foods that are high in protein and fat, keep the carbs low, but still keep it in the 1400-1600 range, you might feel better. Like fish, cheese, plain full-fat yogurt, eggs, and avocados. If you're eating a lot of carbs, you're going to be hungry all the time. I know it sounds like weird advice, but I am truly not hungry on 1500 calories when I eat this way. If I could just get over the mental desire to overeat... That's what i thought!!!! Yes, it included the 45 minutes or so of INTENSE cardio. Okay, I am going to look up my needs on another website. Thanks, ladies. Maela
Yes, but not a lot of intense cardio. Maybe that is why you're so hungry. The primal lifestyle advises not to do a lot of intense cardio (like more than one day a week). And, yeah, it's hard to keep protein high as a vegetarian. Lots of eggs! ETA: meant quote the OP

In the spring I got down to 95 lbs, which is where I feel my best, but I did it too quickly, turned to emotional eating, and gained it all back.
