Parrothead
This link was posted in another thread. If you go to the map of the US on the right side and hover over New Mexico it says Nuovo Messico. Anybody know why that is?

smstjohn
I have no idea why, but the other "New" states are the same and the North and South states are different as well.
Parrothead
When I hover it says Nuevo México. Okay. That is odd.
laundrycrisis
Quite a few of the state names are coming up in Spanish.

Cinder
And MO is Misuri.
Parrothead
Missouri is spelled Misuri. Okay, then it must be some kind of something at that website. Or just that map. Thanks for taking the time to check it out for me.
elegantlion
And MO is Misuri. :svengo: Oh dear gods. :ack2: Please, my eyes are burning. No, please, no. I'm not clicking that link. I've seen my state called a lot of things, I've even called it Misery, but never like that. Is that even a Spanish spelling? It doesn't look like it. Parrothead
Nueva York but New Hampshire is correct.
Mabelen
I can't see anything but then again I am on my IPad. It must be some language setting turned on for Italian and/or Spanish. Nuovo Messico is Italian, Nuevo México is Spanish.
Cinder
Looks like the map's been fixed. They all have their American names now.
Joshin
It's been happening intermittently at HuffPost. My only slightly educated guess is the servers are overloading from high traffic, so occasionally it's bumping the excess traffic to a foreign language server they have running the results. I was hovering earlier and it was in Spanish, then it reloaded and was English, then went back to Spanish.
Barb_
LOL, they seemed to have fixed it for the time being.
