LaxMom
A soft grey? I agree. Or a taupe, if you're looking for slightly warmer. I think either would work well with whatever decorating schemes come along in the future. Just be careful of the undertones. You want crisp, not depressing prison block. Our whole house was variations of "battleship hull" when we moved in. It was horrible.

gardenmom5
gray - maybe even do some sponging to make it look like stone?
Unicorn.
gray - maybe even do some sponging to make it look like stone? :iagree: The gray will make them think of the castle walls, and is very versatile.
plansrme
Gray is very in right now. If you google "good grays" or something similar, you will come up with plenty of blogs in which people opine, possibly ad nauseum, on the best grays. We just used Gray Owl, a Benjamin Moore color but color-matched at Sherwin Williams, in the entire downstairs of a home we are rehabbing, and it looks great. My new rule of thumb for paint colors is to copy straight from magazines and blogs I like. Using this ROT, I just remodeled a bathroom with colors for the floor, ceiling and vanity that I ripped off from a Southern Living article, and it looks fabulous. I am never picking paint colors from swatches again. Terri
