Sun Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 I'm wondering if there's a way to be able to use my computer to see what a child is doing on his computer. Is there a program that will let me look at it over the wireless network in our house? I'd really love to be able to see a screenshot of what the child is up to at a given point in time. I'm not really worried about internet issues (and we have software for that); I'm more worried about checking for how he's moving along on assignments on the computer and so forth--and for checking that he's not using a game or email when he shouldn't. I'm sure something like this must exist. Right? It would help solve the problem that I know some teen parents have where the computer screen flashes to something different as soon as parental footsteps are heard coming in that direction. Keeping the computer in a public place is great, but we can't all spend our days right behind the child and able to see what's on the screen without them hearing us approach! Quote
Matryoshka Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 In another thread, someone suggested joinme.com. I think the child has to be broadasting, so they know you're watching, but you can see what they're doing. I was just trying this out for the first time not 15 minutes ago - I was wondering if the kid could just turn off joinme on their end without your realizing it, or if there was a way for them to just show you some windows and hide others?? bobbeym Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 We use TeamViewer. I like it because it also has a smartphone app. Quote
