fourcatmom
I am using Grammar Punk with my girls and I do really like it but we are not getting really far in it since I have not been feeling well. Typically I will work with the girls in the morning on Math, History and Geography and then in the afternoons while I rest they do their LA programs. So, grammar is not getting done as much as it should. I was thinking of ordering some Easy Grammar workbooks so that they could do some independent grammar work on the days that I can't do GP with them. I heard that you should move ahead a year in EG, is that your experience? Also, would I be okay just ordering the workbooks or are the TE and grams necessary as well. This will be an additional grammar program so I don't really want to buy everything. Any suggestions? Thanks!
1GirlTwinBoys
I don't think you need to move a year ahead in Easy Grammar. I'm using Grade 3 for my twin boys in 3rd and DD in 4th. It seems perfect using it this way. Since my DD is only 1 year older than my twins, I didn't see a need to have them doing separate levels for grammar.:)

Do you use the Grams book and the whole package or just the workbook? I just want some more daily practice and some continued independent instruction in Grammar, if that is possible. Each level of Easy Grammar teaches the same things; it's only that each year the sentences are more complex, and there are more of them in each lesson. Daily Grams is completely optional. I don't usually recommend doing Easy Grammar and Daily Grams simultaneously. If you only want to buy one thing, I'd say get the teacher edition and photocopy the student pages. I looked at the Grammar Punk web site, but I couldn't find samples so I don't have any idea how it works. However, it sure looks pricey. I'm thinking it would just be better to make Grammar Punk work for you, if you've spent that much money. You could do something like Editor in Chief, which would give your dds practice in using what they've learned, in a different way.
