Chez J
I just recently learned about the home instructor's guide for this series. Do I need the textbook if I use the home instructor's guide? Thanks, Lesley
EKS
Yes. The HIG tells gives you a (suggested) schedule and ideas for activities to use with the textbook and workbook. It does not replace the text.

nmoira
The text has example problems, practice problems, and reviews throughout.
Unicorn.
I'll throw in my vote for yes, too. I just recently got the HIG, the textbook is essential, the HIG is not. hth
karensk
Yes, the Textbook contains the lessons written to the student plus additional exercises, as mentioned here. The HIG contains schedules (that show which Textbook lessons, Workbook exercises and Textbook exercises to do and when) and activities that reinforce the math concepts.
