AlmiraGulch
Are you kidding me? I stalked this giraffe for days and I missed it?!?! Thanks for nothing, Autumn. :glare: (thanks for posting...that baby looked dead to me. I'm glad they said it wasn't)
Chris in VA
I was surprised Autumn didn't immediately interact with her baby. She looked a little stunned, didn't she?
kwg
Here is it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Q2LZOO7PVI Thank you so much! I did not realize how long it took for the baby to stand up. Even though I know it all turns out okay, I was kind of nervous! It probably was not all that long but it felt that way watching mom and dad pace. Kathryn
That was nerve-wracking. I'm glad I wasn't watching live. I would have thought the baby was dead/dying.
Stayseeliz
I was stressing out last night. I watched it live and I thought for sure the baby was dead. It was scary!!
DawnM
The only reason I figured the baby was fine was because I saw another birth of a giraffe and the baby was similarly unresponsive after birth. The problem here I think too was the camera.....the quality isn't great and so it is hard to see the baby, it looks like a giant dark glob. catz
I was surprised Autumn didn't immediately interact with her baby. She looked a little stunned, didn't she? That was weird! Definitely stunned! Thank you for the link. :001_smile:

DawnM
The baby keeps going to the door and sniffing, he/she must really want to explore that big world out there!
ILiveInFlipFlops
Yeah, that was a scary time last night. I stayed up and watched the whole thing! I'm so glad it turned out well. I just looked in and saw that silly baby galumphing around the pen after its mama :D Happy day!
Oak Knoll Mom
I was stressing out last night. I watched it live and I thought for sure the baby was dead. It was scary!! I grew up in Greenville, SC and now live an hour away in NC. My facebook news feed blew up last night with posts worried about Autumn. I had scanned the threads here and knew about this impending giraffe birth, but didn't know she was in Greenville. I think I'll take the boys down there to see the baby. The paper said it won't be long until the baby is out in the public area.
