sweetpea3829
We're doing our first lapbook for Human Anatomy. I'm fairly certain the base, one single folder with the basic shutterfold, isn't going to be big enough. But I'm not thinking the double folder shutterfold is going to be quite what I'm looking for either. How else can I extend the inside of the lapbook? Cardstock in the middle section? How do you fasten multiple sheets? Does it get too bulky?
Grover
you can make a 'flap' that folds up (or down) from the middle of the folder by taping a piece of card across the top (or bottom) of the folder.
sweetpea3829
Are there any other ways to add on? Or websites that show some other creative ways to enlarge a lapbook's content?
theYoungerMrsWarde
This blog demonstrates several ways to make lapbooks. The link is for the "lapbook" labeled posts.
KrissiK
You may not like this idea, but I do our "lapbooks" on a sheet of construction paper, put three holes in the side and stick it in our history binder. I guess it's not a "lapbook" in the traditional sense, but it does lend itself to multiple pages and we are able to keep them all together. Each "lapbook" is a different color. For example, when we studied the Alamo, we used blue construction paper for the whole thing. Now we're on the Oregon Trail and that section is green.
