freeindeed
Title says it all. Does anyone know of a forum or website? I've looked for a local group, but none exist. If I had more energy right now, I'd start a local group myself. Perhaps I will in time. Thanks.

Lucy the Valiant
Our children's hospital has an activity-based support group that my early elementary kids have enjoyed.
8filltheheart
My younger children really could have used support when our ds was going through his teenage yrs. There wasn't anything available to them other than counseling and while counseling has its place, a support group would have been better. :grouphug: I hope you are able to find something. PuddleJumper1
I don't know of an online source but our children participated in SibShops when they were younger. It was a great program for them to meet other children who understood what life with a special sibling is like. eta: I notice they reference Facebook and Yahoo groups for sibs on the site. I have no knowledge of these groups - just noticed mention of them. Edited October 18, 2012 by StillLearning
fhjmom
My DS has participated in Sibshop when we go to the annual family retreat for families of children who are deaf/hard-of-hearing. He has really enjoyed it and I think it has helped him to be around other siblings that understand. The leader is a friend of mine who is an adult sibling with a deaf brother, so she is uniquely qualified to lead the group. DS loves "Ms. D"!
