My understainding is I mainly need the workbook and the answer key with teacher notes and I will be fine. There is a section on the website with extra exercises IF needed for each section. Am I missing anything?

You just need the workbook and the answer key. The workbook provides plenty of practice.

Pick the level 1 workbook closest to your child's grade level (3 or 6), and download the associated answer key.

 

Each concept builds on the previous concept, so once you have learned subject and verb, you keep finding them in every sentence, even while you're finding complements or prepositions. You analyze each sentence for everything you have learned so far.

That's all you need. I loaded the answer key on my tablet so the son and I do it together out loud. He still has to mark his sentences but we get to have a little discussion a la MCT.
