specifically punctuation and capitalization. my younger dd is 11 and working on 5th grade. she struggles like crazy to even grasp punctuation for example on a 2nd or 3rd grade level. we have been going over this for years and have tried:

eats, shoots, and leaves

editing: various workbooks including evan moore paragraph editing & editor in chief

dictation

copywork

daily grams

NOTHING is working or even improving much at all. im looked at analytical grammar jr mechanics, but for the price it looks much the same as the above. i think jensens punctuation would be over her head (she has learning disabilities by the way).

any thoughts on what else we can try??? anything at all? thanks! :grouphug:

Jensen's is great but I would think it's a little much for most 11 year olds.

Maybw go back to basics with grammar as that's the foundation of both punctuation and capitilization. KISS is free, gentle and repetitive and might be a good fit. Be consistent with it though. This might not be a quick fix and could require some time to address.
