PeacefulChaos
Even though I know they aren't videos any more. :tongue_smilie: I have: Les Mills something or other... Body Pump or something? P90X Tae Bo Cardio Beachbody Insanity I've also tried zumba at home and was unimpressed - it's something I prefer in the class setting. :) So the thing with those above is that, considering my current state of fitness - while not out of shape, not particularly IN shape, either, kwim? I can walk and walk and walk and I'm fine, but get me to jog or bike and I'm like, dying. :D Zumba wasn't terribly hard, just had me sweating and such. - anyway, the ones above kind of terrify me. :D DH was like, why do we have P90X? and Insanity? Aren't those supposed to be... insane??! So anyway, I'm looking for something to get started with. Something not so incredibly hard all the time, something to do on days when I don't want to feel like I'm going to die when I'm done working out. I'd also like to find some good yoga/pilates type things - they used to have some on Netflix that were easy, but that I liked and did notice some small results from - and then they got rid of them. :glare: Anyway, any ideas? Not-super hard, but still up and moving, workout for when I can't get out of the house? :lurk5:
BamaTanya
I'm not sure what to recommend since I don't know what style you really like, but a resource I frequently turn to is collagevideo.com. You can search by workout type or level or length of workout or customer rating. And you can watch video clips of the workouts. Another great resource to read reviews and forum posts is videofitness.com. I, too, was disappointed when Netflix removed many of the workouts from their streaming list. Some types you might want to investigate (that were on Netflix) are the 10 Minute Solution series and Crunch series. Two instructors with great reviews are Ellen Barrett and Kelly Coffey-Meyer. Ellen's combine Pilates with some other toning and/or cardio. Kelly's are more traditional high energy strength and cardio. Maybe your library has some you could check out? I've been surprised by my library's variety -- pleasantly surprised! hth a little
MindyD
Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred is good, and I also like my Winsor Pilates dvd.
Mom-ninja.
I second Ellen Barret and also recommend Denise Austin. She has a way of getting you in shape without you realizing it.
redsquirrel
There are so many free exercise 'videos' on youtube I just can't believe it. People put up beautiful classes with original content for FREE. Spend a little time poking around and see what you find. Do a search there on cardio or weight lifting or yoga and make yourself a cool workout.

Anyway, since you have them already, you can pop in KenpoX, Cardio X, and Core Synergistics from your P90X kit on the days when you want to do something indoors. They won't kill you. LittleIzumi
I like to do P90X for as long as I can. That's usually starting at 10 min, and eventually ups to 45 min, and then I ff to the cooldown.
Prairie~Phlox
Have you done anything by Chalene Johnson? I love her. I am doing Turbo Jam again after doing Chalene Extreme and splitting an artery (may or may not have been due to exercise) but I am going to only do lighter weights from now on.
