Pam in MA
How are you handling the "evaluation" section on the Common Ap School Report? She is submitting several recommendations from outside people, but it appears I, as her "school administrator" need to supply an evaluation of her academic, extracurricular and personal character, among other things. Seems strange for a parent to be writing this and just wondering how others may have handled it!
ThisIsTheDay
How are you handling the "evaluation" section on the Common Ap School Report? She is submitting several recommendations from outside people, but it appears I, as her "school administrator" need to supply an evaluation of her academic, extracurricular and personal character, among other things. Seems strange for a parent to be writing this and just wondering how others may have handled it! I plan to complete it. Of course, as a homeschooling parent, schools will expect me to say wonderful things about my dd, but I will be focusing on a few things that make her unique and that will translate in how she would be an asset to any college. Otoh, a friend just told me that she called a few of the schools her dd was applying to, and they told her that, as a hser, she would be exempt from that section. She left it blank. I've already contacted one school about course descriptions. That school replied that, while not necessary, they welcome any information that shows any prospective student in a positive light, regardless of their high school background. For me, this guidance counselor section will be no different (. . . .unless I read a compelling argument here to change my mind!).
