Liz CA
Wow! Couldn't you keep both pony carts - one for summer one for winter? :D Did you sell the little paint pony that is pulling the cart as well?

Ottakee
SO cute. We have a harness now to try on our 13hh pony. She is in her mid 20s and we don't know if she has ever driven but she is a bombproof as they come and NOTHING flaps her so we are going to put the harness on and see how ground driving goes. We just need an easy entry cart like that for her.
Remudamom
I sold the little paint pony, his harness and the easy entry cart. I traded for him this spring with the intention of training him a bit then selling him. I almost kept him but I don't have time for three driving ponies. Anyhow, he went to a home where he is to be a surprise for the grandchildren and they are crazy about him. Now I'm buying the new cart. Already have a little buckboard/wagon thing that I use for parades. Ottakee, you are going to love driving. Very addictive.

They were the best price I found for a beginner's cart, but I see a lot of good ones on our local craigslist.
Liz CA
I bet one can noodle over things really good while driving since the horse or pony - once trained - does not veer off the road like a car...:001_smile:
Ottakee
We are looking on Craigs list but need to see how she does with the harness first. She might know how to drive already but if so, it hasn't been for 12 years or more. Any good books/videos on this? I do have 2 friends that start horses with driving. One hitched their mare at the fair on Wednesday for a few minutes, then on Thursday for about 20 minutes and on Friday COMPETED and placed highly in the women's driving class. Wouldn't suggest that though.
