m0mmaBuck
Somehow it made sense that we were talking about nomads settling in Mesopotamia at the same time the Crimean War was underway.
kalanamak
Perhaps they knew, but were too polite to show Mom just how behind the times she was.

dbmamaz
I know my 9 yo doenst pay very good attention in history. Sometimes I ask him about what I just read, and my teen groans, because if he gets it wrong, I re-read the section. But the other day we said something about kids used to work in factories and how dangerous it was, and he said "_I_ know THAT! Do you think I never pay attention during history?!" Um, yes, i think you never pay attention . . .

m0mmaBuck
Of course DD wants to continue on with Egypt while DS wants to forge onward into the 21st century. The next thing you know the Hittites will be assassinating Archduke Ferdinand.

Dmmetler
 Sigh...then I have MY DD, insisting that she CAN'T do her Roman history project for Latin class-because she's not TO the Romans in history yet, and therefore doesn't know Roman history. The fact that every single unit in Cambridge Latin INCLUDES Roman history seems to have completely bypassed her brain.
