tammyw
I can't find anything for a kid his size (size 7 - he's tall). DD9 is going to be Pippi Longstocking and he really wants to be her monkey Mr. Neilson. Help! I do not sew, so that's, unfortunately, not an option. Dmmetler
DD7 was a monkey for a tap dance routine a few years back, so you might want to ask on Craigslist and see if anyone in your area had anything similar. I know when she did it the kids probably ranged from about a CS to a CL, simply within the normal range, and there was a boy's costume as well as a girl's one (and some of the girl's costume parts could be adapted to a boy)-I think one reason the teacher picked doing a monkey-themed dance was because she had a class containing both and needed something less obviously "girly". Jenny in Florida
What about getting a brown hoodie and sweatpants and tacking on a tail, white felt for the belly, brown felt on the hood for ears? Here are instructions for something similar: http://www.ehow.com/how_5184463_make-monkey-costumes.html And there's a picture on this page: http://makezine.com/craft/halloweenkids/
MamaAkins
No ideas for your ds' costume, but I had to tell you---my dd8 is planning to be Pippi Longstocking too!
Plateau Mama
I saw a monkey costume @ Old Navy. Not sure how big they went though as I was only looking at 5's.

A black hooded jacket with other fabric tacked on was how I made ds#1's bumble bee costume when he was 2. :001_wub:
