jenbrdsly
Here's what my kids and I are reading right now to get excited about voting. Elizabeth Leads the Way: Elizabeth Cady Stanton and the Right to Vote, by Tanya Lee Stone Election Day (Ready to Read Level 1), by Margaret McNamara If you Lived When Women Won Their Rights, by Anne Kamma I Could Do That! Ester Morris Gets Women the Vote, by Linda Arms White Susan B. Anthony: Fighter for Women’s Rights, by Deborah Hopkinson If I Ran for President, by Catherine Stier Any other suggestions? Bang!Zoom!
Iron Jawed Angels (for grown ups) was pretty amazing, dramatic, but really good stuff. I could watch that twice.
MrsH
Definitely sound worth checking out! Dd10 and I are reading How They Run with which I'm quite impressed. It's LONG though!
stripe
I would read a bit more broadly about voting rights than almost exclusively about women's suffrage. I think I will see what my library has about that. Including about democracy itself. I haven't read Granddaddy's Gift by Margaree King Mitchell, but that looks good. Vote! By Eileen Christelow and Presidential Races by Morris-Lipsman
ladydusk
I'll look around here ... but I have Butch Elects a Mayor by Helene Hanff from when I was a kid. I like that one :) Don't forget Duck for President, either. Edited October 5, 2012 by ladydusk
