ProudGrandma
a freind of mine (who milks her own cows) gave me a jar of buttermilk on Sunday. I took it home and threw it in the fridge and forgot about it until this morning...can I still use it...or how will I know if it is unusable? I was thinking biscuits or pancakes.... milovany
It'll be fine. Buttermilk lasts a lot longer than regular milk and it's only been three days. If it was regular milk, it'd still be fine.
KungFuPanda
It won't spoil n 3 days. I say make those biscuits :-)

Dory
Mine is good for 4-5 days. If it's been cultured, it'll be good for a week.

justLisa
If it's bad you will definitely know it.
LostSurprise
Even if its a little chunky that's normal for buttermilk.
ILiveInFlipFlops
Is this raw buttermilk--like, the kind you'd get from creating butter from raw cream? Because just so you know, it's completely different than the stuff you'd buy at the grocery store (which, IIRC, is pretty much just milk with cultures). I was VERY surprised at what I got from our farm co-op when I ordered fresh buttermilk! But if you're already prepared for what you got from her, then just ignore me :D
