Jean in Newcastle
Can I use the clippers on a damp dog? I've been doing some googling and I see articles on "wet clipping". My dog isn't soaked - just a bit damp after his bath. Do I need to let him dry completely? Or can I go ahead? The articles on wet clipping lead me to believe that I wouldn't electrocute him, but I'm a bit worried about that.
Flowing Brook
If you use clippers on a wet dog it will dull your clippers. However, I don't think it will hurt the dog. Coming from someone that grooms their ten poodles.
Dory
It won't hurt the dog, but it's hard on the clippers and I've never had the cut job come out looking as good. I always dry my cockers before I clip.
Laura Corin
I always dry mine first - the clipper instructions say that water or dirt dull the blades, so I always wash and dry her first. Laura
Pawz4me
I always dry first. As the others said, I think there's more danger for your clipper blade than for the dog.
