teeniebeenie6
I really don't want to buy a curriculum for US history. I hate getting hung up on recommended booklists. I am looking for a basic timeline with important events children should learn about. That way I can find my own books at thrift stores, etc. that cover these topics. Does anything like this exist? I am a Canadian (my DH is American) so I don't know all the important event and don't want to miss anything significant. Thanks for your help. mazakaal
Not a timeline, but a book. I got the DK Children's Encyclopedia of American History for my ds to use as a referebce when he was in 6th grade. It's probably too old for your kids, but it would give you a good overview of the important events in American history and you could find your own books to teach those events.
