UmMusa
I haven't worn boots in years, but the idea just crossed my mind and I liked one I saw on Land's End. Is there a "do's and don'ts" list for boot wearing?? :tongue_smilie: When I go out of my house I'm wearing a abaya similar to this one. I wear navy, gray, and black ones. And a denim one. So, them being that long (coming down to below my ankles), would a long boot be necessary or would a short boot do fine? FTR, I wear trousers of some sort under the abaya, so the pant leg would go over the boot I'm guessing. EmmaNZ
Salaams, I always wear ankle boots with abayas in winter. Works fine for me, but I'm not very fashionable! I usually get black ones. Is that where you buy your abayas from?

It's what I wear day in and day out.
Farrar
I'm wearing with shorter garments :) But I have both ankle and knee high boots and I love the knee highs because they keep me really warm on a cold day, so that's a consideration apart from the look or what shows. Alicia64
I have to tell you that I bought boots for the first time in ages last winter and I tried on boots at Lands End: not comfortable. They had a hard footing. . . like I was walking on cement. Very weird. I finally found AWESOME boots at Naturalizer. Highly recommend that company. You'll not only get a boot, but you'll get one that feels good to wear. Alley
Wendi
If you want to start a new trend, you could wear cowboy boots with your abaya! :001_smile: I have a fabulous pair of Justin boots that I wear both for riding horses and fashion. They're amazingly comfortable. Wendi

SJ.
I'm loving the knee high riding style of boots this year. I would get a pair of both short and long boots if your budget allows. It doesn't matter if no one will see your long boots, you will know you are rockin' an awesome pair of boots. :001_smile:

LBS
I saw a pair of Frye boots called the Jane, on the Pioneer Woman's website. I tried them on at the store....oh, gosh, they felt wonderful. I searched on Craigslist for some wealthy person who bought them, wore them twice, then wanted to sell them to me. Never did. They're supposed to be great, for all kinds of wear, and for full-figured calves. Knee high boots and a long abayah would be warm, I think, maybe too warm? Speaking from a fashion viewpoint, I would not like to see leg between the hem of the abayah and the top of an ankle boot, however, if you are wearing a trouser/pant, that covers the top of the ankle boot, even when you're sitting down (narrow ankle on pants, ruched up a bit) then that would keep any ankle from showing. I like the idea of the cowboy boots too. Something plain, with the cool undercut heel. The heel makes a neat statement. A laced up, jodphur riding boot type thing, might look pretty cool, too. Def make sure boots are comfy, before investing. I still remember a pair I saved for, loved and hankered for, and they hurt every second I wore them. duh. UmMusa
Now you got me so excited to try different ones on! Comfort is usually an issue. Thanks for your input!!! I don't think any skin would show, but definitely something to keep in mind.
