heidip2p
Can I use SL for just the history/lit piece of it? If so, how? Would I still need the IG? We have things we like for all of our other subjects but history is always lacking for us.
ZooRho
yes you would still need the IG, the IG now does have LA mixed it but you can ignore it. The IG is basically the History and literature.
boscopup
I use it for history, lit, read-alouds (which are history based in the core my oldest is doing). You could pick up a used IG. What cores are you interested in?

Right now we are using TQ and I just do much better with somethng planned out for me.

If you want world history, I think you can do core B and core G for those ages, and they'd be in the same time period. :)
mazakaal
I did this with their old Eastern Hemisphere core. We used just their history and literature, and I did get the IG to give me daily assignments, but used other things for grammar, vocab, spelling, science, etc.
SnMomof7
Definitely! That's what we do - even if you just use them as read alouds (history and read alouds alike) - it's awesome :).
CupOCoffee
Yep, you can, we do. When I first started purchasing Cores, I used every piece of the program. Now that I am second time through (with a completely different kind of learner), I have dropped all but history for her. And, now that I've grown more confident in my ability to put things together, even for my older student, I still on use SL for history, and readers.
