Stupid question.. how to tell a books genre?

Recommended Posts

Not necessarily, but you could learn a lot by how it is placed in the library.

Poetry is in one area, religion in another. Folk Tales are in the 300s, etc. Of course with fiction it is a little more complicated, but you could also google it.

That said, all I could think of with your title was booKs and let me tell you that was funny. :D

Here is a starter list of genres. Maybe this would be a start?

What do you mean you want to have him read one of each genre?

Did you have a link?

We are doing DITHOR from HOD and it suggests having you child read a book from each of a number of genres... biography, adventure, fantasy, etc. I have a bunch of SL books and was hoping I could find out what genre they were. Make sense?

Thanks!!! :)

My older boy was in a summer book club for 3rd-4th graders and the librarian gave out a list of suggested reading by genre. Your library might have a list by genre.

The Scholastic book wizard also list the genre for books.

The copyright page of each book will list the different genres it falls into.
