Does anyone have a Maxi Cosi carseat?

Recommended Posts

We did for 3 & 4 and will get one for 5. We really like how light the seat is! My 9.10 baby was in it till just over a year. My only complaint was that the cover we had was hand wash. :glare: It also bears mentioning that in order to release the infant seat from the base, the button/latch is on the seat and not the base. It's also a puzzle buckle. Those things are different, but didn't bother us at all.

Just make sure it fits you car(s). This is good advice for any car-seat. The Maxi Cosi was one of the brands we considered, but it was a very bad fit in both our automobiles. That is not to say it would not work for you.

Which car seat did you end up going with?

I drive a minivan right now, but the plan is to get a Suburban in the near future.

We got a Sunshine Kids Radian 80. Not a cheap seat, and very heavy (the interior fame is steel). Among the advantages were it is very strong and the over-all width is narrow (while the seating space is normal, due to the interior frame and no plastic outer-frame) so it would fit in 3 across situations where gorpy makes like Britax or Maxi Cosi would not. But the Radian seats are heavy.

They have some new models now, and maybe a new corporate name (?) but these seats are impressive. I did wonder if we "over did it" (as I pressed for it over some cheaper alternatives) but when a moving truck slammed into the rear of my wife's vehicle on the freeway with our son in the car the week after we hope the seat, I gave a sigh of relief when he came away unscathed.

Guest Four My Daughters

Hi!

For starters, Congratulations !

I have used the Maxi Cosi for my last little one. I have LOVED it, with my only complaint being that it does not want to easily release from the base. I do have a minivan though, and haven't had any issues with fit. I Just moved my 26pound 14month old out of it even though she still fit comfortably.

I moved her into the Recaro proRide which I LOVE (which even though is rated for infants 5lbs+ didn't seem as snug a fit to me when she was smaller).

I also have my olders in the Sunshine kids radianXTs (also rated for infants 5lbs+) which I also LOVE, and tried when she was smaller, but drew the same conclusion.

All three seats come with infant inserts and have side impact protection.

If you needed an easy way to test cars eats in your vehicle, Diapers.com has free 2day shipping and free returns! I found the, to be a lifesaver!

Good luck deciding!
