klmama
We all have eye irritation from allergies right now. Saline drops don't help. Antihistamine eye drops help some of us, but not all. What else do you do?
klmama
Any ideas at all?
prairiewindmomma
Zatidor...$8 at walmart. Works better than pataday, which is $120/bottle.
Tap
What allergy eye drops are you using? If you haven't tried Zaditor/Allway or the other variations of Ketotifen (active ingredient), try that next. It was a prescription eye drop until a couple years ago and works great. I assume you are also using oral allergy meds, if not add those too.
JFJ in IL
We use Bepreve prescription eye drops for my son. He has to take them twice a day throughout the spring when he suffers most. Occasionally, he will have a flare up in the fall and a dose or two will take care of it. Feel better!
klmama
I assume you are also using oral allergy meds, if not add those too. Dh is, but he has sinus symptoms. The rest of us just have eye irritation. Is there an oral allergy med that doesn't cause sleepiness or require doctor visits? The co-pay for visits for all of us would be huge! prairiewindmomma
We like zyrtec....the generic at costco is about $14 for a year supply. Allegra wasn't strong enough for us. Oral pills won 't fix eye issues though....and we have found the most relief from (expensive) rx nasal sprays.

Zebra
I use the preservative-free, regular eye drops from Theratears. I have severe eye allergies, seasonal and otherwise. Anything prescription or OTC like Visine just caused me massive problems, for years. I think it's just saline, with no preservatives. But for me it has worked wonders. Which may not be what you are looking for at all, but I thought I would throw it out there :001_smile:.
