Sade
Hi, I'm looking for something that will keep me engaged, but not too-too deep. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!
blakereese
A bit more info, please. :D Name a few of your favorite books. What types of things do you like to read and NOT like to read? That will help us all give you better recommendations. :)
Sade
That's the problem! lol I mostly read reference books or read alouds to my 8 year old. I don't really know what I like to read any more. I just know I want it light and fairly quick to read. Thanks :) :)
LibraryLover
Have you ever read To Kill a Mocking Bird? Jude, the Obscure? The Diary of Anne Frank? The Witch of Blackbird Pond? Gone With the Wind? Jurassic Park? Rebecca?
Tracy in Ky
Spark by Dr. John Ratey is a page turner. It is about the effects of exercise on the brain. One of my favorite books :)
Munchkins_mama
Gone With The Wind is my all time favorite book. I've read it at least 10 times in the last 15 years. ( Named my DD after Scarlett O'Hara.) Recently I've read The Red Tent and loved it. It made me pine for woman companionship though. A Wrinkle in Time will hold the attention of even the most sophisticated grown up. And! There is a whole series so if you get hooked, you can keep reading! Right now I'm attempting to read Reading Lolita in Tehran. It's good so far.
blakereese
Here's a few I enjoyed: Chick Lit: Firefly Lane (Kristin Hannah) The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes Historical Fiction: The Autobiography of Mrs. Tom Thumb Memoir: The Glass Castle I guess you'd consider this non-fiction, LOVED: The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks Also, a couple of my fave all time books: To Kill a Mockingbird The Red Tent Pride and Prejudice (I know, weird trio) Take a peek on amazon to see descriptions and if you'd like them. HTH!

kolamum
If you don't mind Christian Fiction the book Finding Eden is just THAT hard to put down. I also found the Inkspell trilogy difficult to put down {YA} Anything by Kate Morton {If you like Downton Abby you'll probably really enjoy the House At Riverton aka The Shifting Fog}
