Kathy G
HI My kids want to learn about the branches of the military. I will probably spend about a week on this. Does anyone have any good sites? worksheets? book recommendations? Ages 13, 11 and 7 it is mostly for the 11 and 7 year old. I am coming up pretty dry googling it. Thanks! Kathy G
Thanks, it wasn't what I had envisioned, but it might work!
slackermom
This is where I would start if I was designing a unit study for DD, probably focusing first on information from their museums: ARMY: http://www.history.army.mil/ NAVY: http://www.history.navy.mil/ AIRFORCE: http://www.airforcehistory.af.mil/index.asp MARINES: http://www.usmcmuseum.com/index.asp The museum gift shops often have books perfect for that age group. When we go to Florida, we don't go to Disney, we go to visit the fastest plane ever built. :gnorsi:
serendipitous journey
I think if I were interested in this, I'd tackle it as simply US military history -- which is totally fascinating BTW! Would that do? This is lame compared to slackermom's list though. Still: it's an idea. :) Edited September 28, 2012 by serendipitous journey
