Sharon
Hello, Wondering if anyone could recommend any magazines that their child enjoys and they feel is well worth the time and money spent on it. Probably something more science geared would be best. Thanks,Sharon
fairfarmhand
my kids really like National Geographic and the Reader's Digest. yes, even at age 13. My 10 yo loves the pictures in NG, and the jokes in Readers Digest.
jen3kids
How about the Odyssey magazine by Carus Publications? You can often get copies from the library to see if your kids would be interested.
eternalknot
Ditto to National Geographic. Our kids like Games Magazine, too. We like Discover Magazine, and some really good conversations have sprung from articles we've read therein. It's not super meaty, but it's an easy read and good introduction to topics that can then be delved into more deeply on your own time. The content might not be appropriate for all families, so flip through one before you commit. My very small library carries it, most stores will, and there is likely a website for it. Stay away from Popular Science. It's like the Vogue of the science world, all ads LOL. Not worth a subscription, and barely worth a flip through for free at the library!
