AvasMom
We've just started attending an Episcopal church (and loving it!) and today we bought a copy of the Book of Common Prayer. So my question is...how do you use it? Do you have a daily reading plan? Do you just use it on certain occasions or what?
Starr
It's a rich book. Our usual services are in it as well as a few that can be used yourself. Take a look at morning and evening prayer and compline (nighttime prayers). You might want to try one of these every day. There is a way to find all the readings from the Bible as well. The easiest thing to do is see your Rector and have him/her go through it with you. Enjoy getting to know all that is in there.
AvasMom
Thanks! :) We talked briefly with our priest today and got the Readers Digest version as well as some church history and he showed us where the catechism section is. Because we're in the middle of the installation of a new priest and a new bishop, we aren't starting up the newcomers class for about 3 weeks and I'm impatient to start digging in on my own. Lol!
