love2read
Starting about a week ago we've been bombarded with at least 5 calls a day from telemarketers with middle-east or indian accents. I can barely understand them. I thought we were on the no-call list, but maybe there is a new one? What to do? Is this happening to anyone else? They come up on the caller id with residential names and I answer because we're involved in enough activities that I don't know all the names. usetoschool
I heard, somewhere recently, that the do not call lists only work if the caller agrees to abide by them. So the slimiest calls still get through. We have an answering machine and I tell my family over and over that if it is important or someone we know, they will leave a message. For the most part we don't answer the phone and let the answering machine screen our calls. All of my friends and family have my cell phone number and call me that way. Starr
"Take us off of your list please." That is all the time they get from me but it is so annoying. We get more robo calls then friendly calls.
LadyR
I feel your pain!! I finally got caller ID just so I wouldn't have to answer all those calls that usually came while I was still sleeping or having dinner. (And I am on the Do Not Call list also.) Of course it doesn't help if you can't easily tell who it is. If I am not sure of the caller, I let the answering machine pick it up. If it is someone who truly needs to get in touch with me, they will leave a message. Then I can pick it up if I recognize the caller. I guess you can even use an answering machine message stating to please leave a message since you screen for telemarketers!! ;)
