Hello! I'm new here, just been busy reading the wealth of info offered here! I have a question as I'm sourcing out some oak meadow circ. I want the more current syllabus that is slightly more school like ( so I've heard). What year am I looking for? I would like to fine k and 2nd grade. The one k I found for a good price has a syllabus 2001 and the supp. Books are from 2005. Will these work together?

Sorry so abreviated, I'm on my cell....how on earth do people function on these things! It's making me nuts, lol.

Thanks for any help!

Michelle

Hi,

The most current edition of 2nd grade is 2010. I believe the most current for K is 2005, but I could be wrong. I would call OM and ask them. I'm using OM 2 this year, and we are enjoying ourselves.

Yes, those books will work for K. OM K, over the years, hasn't change much other than color pictures.

Hope this helps.

  • 3 months later...

I believe for k, as long as it is newer than 1998, the stories are the same. Pre-1998, the stories were not the Beatrix Potter but were fairy tales (and a lot are the same as what is now in the 1st grade curriculum).

I found I was supplementing so much that it was better to shelve both the K and 1st. I tried so hard to love OM as it was... but for us, my own need for more traditional math and la took over.
