Holly in FL Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I've been looking on-line this evening to see what kinds of deals I can find for a Wii. It looks as if I just need to shop around to find the best deal for whatever package I want. True? Where did you buy your Wii? Thanks! ~Holly Quote
Brenda in FL Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I bought mine at Target. Just check every time you are out. The earlier in the day the better. You can also try http://www.wiialerts.com. In fact they have some bundles listed now. We only bought the wii system for $249 when I found it. Later I bought wii play since it comes with a remote making the game $10. And we just bought a second nunchuck. I think wiis have neen difficult to find again since May when wii fit came out. Good luck, and your smart starting early to look for it! Quote
MomofSeven Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 so get there early Sunday morning and they SHOULD have them in stock. Quote
Holly in FL Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 Thanks! I'm finding plenty on-line right now...but, I'm also trying to do some quick math to see if these game bundles are really saving us money. BTW...it always *freaks me out a bit* when I see your name on posts because my sister's name is Brenda! She doesn't live in FL anymore, though. Smiles! ~Holly Quote
Brenda in FL Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I looked at the bundle at circuit city and it seemed about right if it comes to $349-59. I wouldn't choose wii play for the game since you will already be getting two remotes. Quote
MyThreeSons Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I looked and looked for a Wii last Fall. I was never in the right place at the right time, though. Someone had blessed us with just the right amount of money, and the guys knew that was going to be our Christmas. The Friday before Christmas, GameStop was going to be taking orders for Wiis. I got there at 7:30 on a cold rainy morning. I was the first one there, so I set my soccer mom chair by the door and waited in my van. Others started to show up, but we wordlessly agreed that we'd keep track of who was where in line while we stayed warm and dry. Well, except for one guy who weasled his way to be first in the door when it finally opened. I paid up front for the system, and was given a game case that I could wrap that contained a coupon telling the boys that one was on hold for them, guaranteed to be in by the end of January. That's what they opened Christmas morning, and they were thrilled because they didn't know I had even gotten that. The REALLY cool thing was that the GameStop store manager had called before 8:00 Christmas Eve morning to tell me that Santa had left something for me at the store. So while the boys were playing with their stocking stuffers -- that's all they had besides the the Wii rain check -- I slipped out and got the system box. The looks on their faces was truly priceless!!! Quote
NicksMama-Zack's Mama Too Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I was able to get ours from a Toys R Us when all other stores were sold out (Best Buy, Target, Walmart). I went to TrU in the middle of the week, in the middle of the day. I asked to clerk in the electronics/gaming section and she asked her manager if they had any. The manager brought me one from the back - they hadn't put them out on the shelves yet. My dh was able to obtain one during his lunch hour at a TrU near his work. Again, mid-day, mid-week. So, I vote for trying TrU. K Quote
Heather in Savannah Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 this past weekend. They had 5 in stock. Who'd a thought? Now managing the time ds spends on it will be another challenge.....sighh....dh and I are not on the same page on this issue. Quote
