DawnM
My 8 year old just gave me an offer. He said, "Mom, I will do TEN cleaning jobs if you will just let me out of math!" The boy HATES math. Hmmmm.....,.....
Cindy in FL.
Ten cleaning jobs for 1 day off math? I might be tempted! Cindy
Jpoy85
aww. Id offer a few problems instead of the whole page. :)
Barb_
I think that boy needs a day's reprieve from Math. Seriously! Think about all a motivated 8yo could accomplish! I would totally take him up on it. You'll get a clean house and he'll never ask to get out of math again

Farrar
For just a day of math? Be careful what you wish for, kid. Okay... 1. scrub toilets 2. sweep floors 3. clean playroom 4. dishes 5. change all the sheets 6... Oh, wait, why am I bothering? The kid probably went back and did the math by number three. Alte Veste Academy
LOL I would TOTALLY let him. Of course he would need to mix up a new batch of cleaning solution. You know, using ratios. :tongue_smilie:

DawnM
Honestly, this kids DOES like to work. For our boyscout events, they sometimes say younger siblings shouldn't attend as they get easily bored and cause issues, but my youngest they make exceptions for. He can outwork most of the big boys. Yesterday we cleaned out the car (it was WAY grosser than I thought it was....it is amazing what you overlook after a while! :tongue_smilie:) Today he asked if he could clean the car out more! dangermom
I'd do it! Those would be big jobs. Then I'd have a clean house AND math would look good! Just like young John Adams, who wanted to get out of doing Latin, and discovered that ditch-digging was way less fun than school. ;)
