jeninok
I hate buying gifts for my dad, and have a hard time with a lot of other people, but my son and I picked out this book for Dads birthday last night at Barnes and Noble, it is pretty awesome! It is also on sale for 24.98, which is a great price for a lovely coffee table book!! It has a gazillion species of birds, and most of them have a corresponding number that you push on the little Audio player and it plays their songs. :bigear: We opened it up and listened to all the Owls, and the Chickadees before I was finally able to get DS into bed and the book wrapped back up for my dad!! http://www.npr.org/2010/12/21/132235223/bird-songs-bible-tweets-the-old-fashioned-way http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/bird-songs-bible-les-beletsky/1103746910 the online price at B&N is still high, but in stores it was 25! thescrappyhomeschooler
Ooooo! I'll have to have my sister check at the B&N where she works to see if they have it. Our niece is having major cleft palate surgery in Dec., and she is a total bird freak. She would love this book, and it's something she could really devour while recovering. thescrappyhomeschooler
I just called my other sister and my niece already has it! I guess I'll have to find something else.

We are doing this too at our house, and then hopefully at the lake this summer where there are so many birds that my folks had to hang up 3 hummingbird feeders to try to stop the war that was going on between the harems! http://www.birds.cornell.edu/pfw/

I'll have to show that website to my niece. She is an absolute nature fanatic, but she loves birds and insects the best. She requested a pet turtle for her surgery prize from her parents, so I'm going to send her some books on turtle care.
