Audrey
Ummm ... I was wrong. But, that said, I don't pay close attention to Canadian politics unless someone really controversial is elected. You Canadians seem just so agreeable:). (Except, perhaps, some Quebecois. ) No. They seem quite agreeable. Amongst themselves. Just not with the rest of the country. ;)
Spy Car
Loser! :001_smile: What do you mean? England (ask part of the UK) has a Prime Minister, France has a President and a Prime Minister, and Mexico has a President. Bill
Dory
I disagree. I'm quite pleased with how our country is doing economically especially during a time when so many other countries are struggling. :iagree: I'm pretty proud of my country and pretty proud of my province. I also find it rather shocking how little many of our American neighbors seem to know about us. I try pretty hard to keep up with American news and politics. Brilliant
My poll choice wasn't included. I was sure it was Francois Mitterrand. :001_huh: But I just checked and he's been dead for 16 years. And he was the president of FRANCE, not PM of Canada. Oops. I think the fact that I've heard of Francois Mitterrand should give me some extra credit, though. :)
ElizaG
I'm one of the ones who answered "Canadian, but have no idea." I do know who the current PM is. But I can't remember who replaced Dave Nichol as President. ;)
Amy in NH
Ok - so I thought it was a trick question from the subject of the thread (being that there is not president....) - but the poll used PM, so, I voted.Got it right, amazingly. :iagree:
twoxcell
I knew his name had Harper in it but I voted for the wrong Harper.:blushing: The only reason I new that was from this forum.
stripe
I try pretty hard to keep up with American news and politics. And that's how we know you are not an American. They’re the sort of scores that drive high-school history teachers to drink. When NEWSWEEK recently asked 1,000 U.S. citizens to take America’s official citizenship test, 29 percent couldn’t name the vice president. Seventy-three percent couldn’t correctly say why we fought the Cold War. Forty-four percent were unable to define the Bill of Rights. And 6 percent couldn’t even circle Independence Day on a calendar.

Bill The dating Barbra Streisand line is funnier than saying saying the man is dead, Bill. Geez . ;) On the subject of famouse Australians. ;) I was watching A Knight's Tale the other day, and asked dh the name of the actor who portrayed William. I wondered what other films he had made, as i wanted to see more of him. For whatever reason, the guy who rarely watches TV knew/ told me it was Keith Ledger, and that he had died several years ago. I felt so sad. He's (was) just a baby. Dh said, "Don't you remember when the The Dark Night Batman movie was released, and all the press about the actor who played the Joker? That was Ledger. He died during editing." I have no idea how I missed that. But now I want to see that Batman film. I'm also wondering why he was the Joker and not Batman. He seems like a Batman. Poor kid. Canada's parliament follows the Westminster System from our parent the UK with a Prime Minister as head of government and Governor General as head of state.
