What the heck happened to my tongue?

Recommended Posts

It is red, kind of raw, and HURTS. It feels like it was burned but it wasn't. It also almost feels like there is a coating on it but there isn't.

No sickness, just one VERY sore tongue!

ideas?

I think I'll gargle with salt water after I dink some tea.

ETA: never mind. I guess. I should have googled first.

Candida. :glare:

OR, it could be your toothpaste!

That happened to me, and it wasn't candida.... we had just switched to Crest Pro-Health toothpaste. They use a different type of flouride and it caused chemical burns on my tongue and inside of my cheeks, and even my gums were hurting.

If you look up reviews on Crest Pro-Health, especially on Amazon, you'll see that a LOT of people get burned from it.

It took WEEKS before I was better :(

HOLY COW!!!! that is AWFUL!!!! But I am nearing the end of my sensitive tooth toothpaste. It can't be that.

I was going to guess geographic tongue, but you didn't mention that it had irregular lines like a map. :)

I did hear of that but no, no lines. Fire engine red right down the middle.
