What are the choices for writing curriculum?

Writing has been a hot topic in my home and local group lately. What are our choices? I know some:

I have heard of Put That in Writing and I may try this since it would fit for 7th grade. I don't know if it teaches writing across the curriculum so I would love more information on that.

We're using the Comprehensive Narrative Writing (2nd - 7th), Comprehensive Expository Writing (2nd - 8th) and Comprehensive Pursuasive Writing (7th-9th) books from Empowering Writers. They are intended for the school room (used throughout the US) and can be photocopied to be used for multiple students, but the activities can easily be adapted for homeschooling. Padawan Learner really struggled with writing - hated writing - but has really taken to this program. No more "I hate writing."

 

Warning: They are not cheap ($70 a piece), are never sold used (v. good sign) and are usually available only from the website.

We use Home2Teach online writing courses and LOVE it! Classes cost $75 per class (4 a year, 6 weeks per class)) with discounts for multiple children. They (the teachers) do all the instruction, correcting, and work directly with the child. I don't do anything. :)

CQLA...although it is a comprehensive language arts program instead of just writing.
