I start training on a new job Tuesday......

First, a praise and listing of gratitude that this opportunity for income does not take away from current income providing opportunities, does not take away from daytime with the kids/homeschooling, allows DH to also be trained and either of us can do it.

 

We are being hired as hosts/hostesses of a Houston Poker League. We'll manage the tournaments in contracted bars nearby (and so gas is not too much of an issue).

 

It will be at night, for extended periods, so one of us will go to work and the other will be home with the kids.

 

It will help close the gap caused by the reduction in child support. We are both willing to do whatever it takes (short of public school) to move into the black and build an emergency fund, pay off everything but the car and house, and increase our cushion.

 

It will cut down on being able to actually play poker, but I'm glad to be (more) able to pay bills!

Wonderful news, Joanne!!! A friend of ours does the same thing here, and my DH has been considering trying to get in on it. You'll have to let us know how it goes for you.
