mama25angels
The only thing you really need is the family guide, and the maps if you want to use them.
ByGrace3
It really depends on what you want. You have to have the guide. What will you use as a spine? The companion makes a great spine for all ages. Even my Ker and 2nd grader like it. Do you want maps? Do you want coloring? Crafts? Timeline? Cool histories are worksheets/questions/ some activities. You have to choose what you want in a history program. That is the great thing about Biblioplan, you make it what you want it to be. :001_smile: For my lower grammar students we use the guide, companion, cool histories, and coloring pages. Next year we will add maps and timeline. I plan to get the craft book when it is released this year. I get ebooks so the cost is not too bad and you can reuse everything. We like maps so we usually do SOTW map as well as Biblioplan's map. We usually just read through the Companion at the beginning or end of the week and talk about it, same goes for the Cool Histories. We enjoy it and it's nice to have on hand and you can just omit or add in what you prefer. I really enjoy tweaking and using Biblioplan it helps me stay on a charted course with history, otherwise, I am likely to get sidetracked or stay on one topic for much of the school year. Sometimes I have to remind myself that this is more "survey". :D We love history here. Oh and I should note in the Companion it has neat missionary highlights and things about Church history, which I find very valuable. I pair this with my Veritas timeline cards (it tells you which cards to use each week) and a lot of the Sonlight readers go along with Biblioplan's suggested reader/read aloud/literature recommendations. Are you saying that BP lists the VP cards for each week? That is very cool, and I didn't realize that (and I own the VP cards). I've used BP in the past, but don't think my version had that included.
