HappyGrace
Storebought, of course. I always make my own pie crust dough but don't really have time now, so I want to start buying it, but we don't want preservatives or junk in it. Is there anything like that? Thanks! Tohru
Hmmm...it probably depends on what is available where you live. We get the frozen, premade pie shells at our local Vitamin Cottage found in the freezer section next to the frozen berries, usually on the bottom and generally there are only a handful of them. I think Safeway may have an "Open Nature" brand of pie crust that should be pretty preservative free. We get Safeway's Open Nature biscuits and cinnamon rolls in those exploding refrigerator can things and they are preservative and hydrogenated free. ETA: I guess Safeway's Open Nature doesn't have pie crust, yet. Maybe you could flatten some crescent rolls out as a crust. http://www.safeway.com/ShopStores/Open-Nature-Pantry.page? PrincessMommy
could you make your own and then freeze it when you're making the pies? In my experience it takes longer to make the filling than it does to make the crust.

Little Nyssa
Whole Foods has frozen piecrusts-- they even have a spelt one. I would guess no preservatives, but I'm not sure.
