mirth
Which is the best way to make toasted ravioli? My understanding is you buy some fresh or frozen ravioli, defrost, bread in some sort of egg/breadcrumb mixture and then either bake or fry. Will baking give a good a result as frying? KungFuPanda
I'd vote not just fried, but DEEP fried. :D
angela in ohio
Baked, then fried. :D That way the inside is cooked, but the outside isn't burned to a crisp.
Parrothead
I have never heard of toasted ravioli. I'm now intrigued.
angela in ohio
I have never heard of toasted ravioli. I'm now intrigued. Your life has been meaningless up until this point. :D We went to a great little Italian place that makes them with this blend of cheeses and herbs and mushrooms and I don't even know what other goodness in there. They are crunchy, gooey, and chewy all at the same time. I have since stolen the idea and sometimes serve them as an appetizer when we have Italian for a crowd here. I can't quite get the same blend of cheeses and seasonings as they have, but they are still pretty yummy. :001_smile:

justLisa
I would fry them unless you give them a nice coat of oil before baking.
Crimson Wife
I voted "baked" before I read the 1st post because I was thinking of a different dish that uses fried raviolis without the breading that is meh. I've never heard of breaded raviolis before, but I now agree with the majority that if you're going to bread them, you should fry them. mirth
Ok, all you fried ravioli folks .... do you mean deep-fried? If so I have a problem. I am poorly skilled at deep frying. As you can see, I am not going to let go of this because I love them and Costco doesn't sell frozen toasted ravioli (ftr). Can anyone say if Sam's or BJ's sells ftr?
