Onceuponatime
It's nothing special, a top loader, middle of the line. However, the instructions say High efficiency detergent recommended. What will happen if I keep on using the stuff I used to use in my old washer? I have a humongous box of detergent left and I don't want to waste it. KungFuPanda
I'm guessing it's asking for HE detergent because even top loaders have water restrictions now. I'd just use less detergent, or wash smaller loads just to make sure everything dissolves and rinses properly.
SailorMom
It may suds up more - and may not get completely rinsed. HE detergent is a bit different. I feel your pain though. I did the same thing. After a few washes, though, I gave up and bought HE. The old stuff seemed to leave a residue on the clothes. I saved my old stuff for vacations (we usually have access to a washer and dryer). It's been about three years and I have just now used it all up, lol.
