Monarch Room Posted September 15, 2012 Share Posted September 15, 2012 I would think The Nature Connection would still be a good option for a 6th grader. I'm using it with a 2nd and 4th grader, but I'm even enjoying it :) It's not babyish at all. It directs you through the seasons, and has been the most doable option I have found for nature study. Each one focuses on a different area and walks you through what you might expect to see along with simple activities. The website has some lesson plans and activities to give you ideas, too. They have a ton of suggested books, poems, and activities as well as science. We're also reviewing one for the Homeschool Crew from Homeschool Legacy that's literature based as well, and have been enjoying it very much. sagira Posted September 17, 2012 Share Posted September 17, 2012 The book When Children Love to Learn has a chapter devoted to nature study where older students (6th or 7th graders) engage in it.
