OnTheBrink
How much time does an appraiser spend in your house? I'm trying to figure out whether to have them come on a day I work, or wait until I have a day off.

They are only looking for updating and structural issues like size, condition, systems.
Guest submarines
15-20 minutes, max. They basically walk through your house and take photographs. That's all.
QueenCat
Less than 30 minutes.
Tap
Under 30 minutes unless you have an unusually large house/property.
OnTheBrink
Ok, thanks! I was thinking hours or something. My house is pretty small, so it shouldn't take long then. I did get a call today saying my loan's approved, which I thought was sorta weird since they've not done the appraisal yet. But I've no idea what order things happen in these situations. We're supposed to close in 2 weeks. I, being a fatalist most of the time, am just waiting for something bad to happen! :svengo:
