American Girl in St. Louis

My DD has a birthday in October and I think she would like to visit the American Girl store in St. Louis. Any reviews? Should we do any of the meals? How long should we plan to stay there? Is there something nearby that Dad and the boys could do while the girls have fun??

We haven't eaten there, but I can share pictures of the store from the Grand Opening:

American Girl Store

It was a lot of fun! My girls could have spent forever just looking at stuff!

As for Dad and the boys...what ages? And how nearby? I keep wishing they'd build a Lego store, but that hasn't happened yet, but there are fun things to do, depending on how far they want to venture.

I've never actually been to this place, but it's not too far away and looks fun. It has limited hours, though, so depending on when you're going, it may not work.

Faust Park is just down the road, and it's pretty cool.

Even though we used to live in Chesterfield, that's all I can think of right now. If anything else comes to mind, I'll let you know!

We took a major detour on our way home from our Memphis road trip this past spring JUST to go to that AG store :D

Yes, go. It is mayhem but your DD will love it. An hour is probably enough time but it all depends on if you plan to have the hair done, ears pierced, etc. we did, only because that was likely the only chance we would have to be in an AG store.

We didn't get a chance to eat at the cafe - it is small and didn't have a lot of staff the day we were there. I can't recall if they take advance reservations?

Your DH & boys can always go to eat at The Cheesecake Factory which is a short walk from the store. Mmmmmm.......cheesecake :drool5:

We went there this spring and it is a very small AG store. We've been to the one in ATL too and it's a smaller store as well, but St Louis- especially the bistro- is smaller. I'm sure your DD will still have a fun time, but she should know it's not going to be big like Chicago or NYC. The bistro is super duper tiny. If you want to eat, make sure you get reservations because it is teeny- like 5-6 tables total. I don't know what else is around there. We got the afternoon tea and enjoyed it.
