KathyBC
Can you recommend a reference book for the human body, something with lots of photographs maybe? My kids would like to see where more of the organs are, and what they really look like. For instance, when we went over a kids' body chart, they noticed the colon wasn't listed; and they wondered what the small intestine actually looks like. Arcadia
For K to 3, we liked the DK series on the human body as reference. We borrowed those from the library from time to time so I don't have the actual titles. For high school, we like Gray's Anatomy as a reference. My cousins has used that as reference for high school cambridge exams as well as med school in commonwealth countries.
KathyBC
Thank you. Our library catalog had 43 pages of titles on the human body, so picking a few from DK helped narrow down the choices. :D I'd like to purchase something eventually, but this is a great start. Thanks. kiwik
I just looked at the Ellen McHenry site a couple of posts above you. She had a free study guide to go with a book from amazon that she recommends.
Monica_in_Switzerland
We have the DK Eyewitness Human Body book, and it's really nice. You can "look inside" if you search it on amazon. Thank you to the PP for mentioning the Ellen McHenry free downloads. I found a body bingo game that looks like fun for my Coop science class! KristenR
For a fun and interactive supplement you should check out Zygote Body (previously known as Google Body) It's free and you can literally peel back the layers of a human body.
