Grantmom
We have not done any Latin at all (besides some basic root words, like Red Hot Root Words), and I would like to start. Is there anything that I could use with my 3rd and 7th grader that we could all do together? I would really like it if I didn't have to do two different things for each of them. A few years ago, I looked at one that told a story with a mouse narrator. Maybe something like that? Thanks for any advice!
KristenR
Have you looked into Visual Latin? That might be doable for those ages. You can check out some free sample lessons on their site.
blessed3x
I have Latin for Children, both A & B, for sale right now. ;)
Spryte
We are using Getting Started With Latin for 3rd, but DH is following along. It seems to be fine for both ages, though you'd probably find the 7th grader going faster.

Minimus would be great for your little one, but "babyish" for a 7th grader. Song School Latin would also be a great introduction for the youngest one. Latin for Children would follow either of those courses nicely. Does the older one like mythology? If so, maybe consider Learning Latin through Mythology for a short intro course. It's a slim book that's written with a beginner in mind. Assuming the 7th grader has a decent grasp of grammar, he could do this book fairly independently. My older two kids did that book between two of their heavier Latin courses, just for the fun of it. Afterward you'll probably have a better idea of how deep a course you'd want for the older one. (Those two kids use the Latin Alive series from Classical Academic Press for their main course.) Personally I wouldn't put those ages together for a Latin study. There are some books they could both use, but being tied to the other's speed wouldn't serve either of them well.
JudoMom
I would start with Visual Latin and Getting Started with Latin. I would do them both with both your kids. They are both gentle introductions to the language and would give all 3 of you a great introduction. Then next year you can move along to something else.
