I'm thinking about using MUS, and I was wondering if you had to use their blocks?

 

Can I use a different brand of blocks, or will the colors be different?

IMO, the blocks are worthwhile. Just get the starter set, not the completer set.

LOVE the blocks. I have used others, and personally, find their system very worthwhile. You may find them used at vegsource or on the MUS swap yahoo group....

I thought it would be better to use their blocks, but I was looking to save some money. But hey, I do like getting all my items at one time instead of waiting for different shipments.

 

Another question, if you don't mind.

 

Have you used the skip song audio cd? Is it worth it?

haven't used it, but would like to...I actually bought some hip hop memorizing cd's at convention and the kids are having fun with them....I did print out the music (free from the website) and plan on having dc practice with them!

My dd never used the blocks, even though we got them. However, if your dc will be using manipulatives, I'd say nothing else could properly substitute for the MUS blocks. They are truly original.

 

Never used the cd here, but I think you can listen to samples at the site.

Any skip counting CD is fine. At the time I bought mine, MUS only had a chipmunk version. I couldn't handle that so I bought one somewhere else. I think they have alternative versions now.
